Ruth Louise (Snow) Lanteigne of Augusta, MI


Ruth, age 76, died Monday morning, January 25, 2016 at Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo, MI, following a lengthy illness having battled COPD for several years, many back surgeries and a neck fusion.

Ruth, the daughter of Dudley and Mildred (Heron) Snow, was born in New London, CT on December 1, 1939. She had a generous love of all of Mother Nature's animals especially cats, which she had as many as seven at one time and loved them all dearly. Ruth would feed her squirrel and duck friends on a daily basis.

Ruth was united in marriage to Joseph R. "Ray" Lanteigne in Augusta on July 19, 1979 and he sadly preceded her in death on September 25, 1988. Surviving is her twin sons, Michael J. "Mike" (Pamela) Livendale of White Lake, MI and William M. "Bill" (Allyson) Livendale of Simi Valley, CA; five grandchildren; several great grandchildren; her mother, Mildred Forrest of Galesburg, MI; two sisters, Elaine (Ken) Blue of Augusta and Penny (Mike) Mario of Battle Creek, MI; two brothers, Daniel "Butch" (Marlene) Snow of Battle Creek and Dudley (Dolly) Snow, Jr. of Waukegan, IL and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

The Graveside Service to celebrate Ruth's life will be held on Friday, January 29th at 1:00 p.m. at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, with the Rev. Jennifer J. Wheeler, Pastor of the Augusta Fellowship United Methodist Church, officiating. There will be no visitation. Immediately following the Service, family and friends will continue Ruth's life celebration with a time of fellowship and a luncheon at the Augusta V.F.W. Post # 7956, 13540 West M-96, Augusta, MI 49012. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ruth's honor may be directed to the Kalamazoo County Humane Society, 4239 S. Westnedge Avenue, Kalamazoo, MI 49008. The Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Richland Chapel (269-629-6022) is assisting Ruth's family with her arrangements.
