Ruth A. Nye

Ruth Ann Nye 70, of Battle Creek, died Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born December 11, 1946 in Battle Creek to the Jessie and Esther (Bidwell) Yother, and was a 1964 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School. She was united in marriage in 1966 to David L. Nye, he preceded her in death in 2003. Ruth was a homemaker and loved taking care of her family. In addition to her husband, David, Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, and six brother and sisters.

She is survived by her daughter, Angela R. (Angie) Nye-Goudy; a son, Rod L. (Elaine) Nye both of Battle Creek; two grandchildren; three sisters, Mary (Frank) Abbott of Bellevue, Helen Cox of Hamilton, AL, Ruby West of Montgomery, AL; and a brother, Paul Yother of Utah.

She loved doing puzzles, going to casinos, preferably Las Vegas, but mostly spending time with her family, her grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Ft. Custer National Cemetery, with Rev. James Sparks officiating, where she will be interred next to her husband. There is no visitation planned and cremation has taken place. Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Association.
