Ruth Irene Pickett

Ruth Irene Pickett, age 87 of Battle Creek passed away peacefully on Saturday evening February 3, 2024.  She was born in Battle Creek on April 11, 1936, the daughter of Clifford and Doris (Sidnam) Crapoff and graduated from Battle Creek Central High School.  Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, playing games with her grandkids, reading, weekly phone calls with her sisters, and going for coffee.  

Ruth is survived by her children, Kathy Smalley, Bob Pickett and Connie (Mike) Ehredt; her grandchildren, Tiffany (Mike) Schmidt, Torri (John) Ballentine, Trevor (Kelsey) Ehredt, Taylor (Jason) Crapo, and Tristen (Kameron) Joostberns; her great-grandchildren, Ty Schmidt, Natalie & Sadie Ballentine, Rylee & Jac Crapo, and Blayke Joostberns; her sisters, Mary Babbitt and Pat Mineno; special friends, Becky Schmidt and Tonja Kazlauskas; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert and Bill Crapoff; sister, Jeannie Sanders; and son-in-law, Lynn Smalley.
