Ryan Scott Rowse

Ryan Scott Rowse, age 44 of Kalamazoo and formerly of Battle Creek and Hastings, died at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital on Saturday, May 30, 2026.

Ryan was born March 12, 1982, in Battle Creek, Michigan to Timothy Allen and Julia Mae (Clements) Rowse. He grew up in Battle Creek until 4th grade and then lived in Hastings, MI, where he graduated from Hastings High School in 2001. Ryan also furthered his education at Kellogg Community College. He was employed as a tree climber for several companies specializing in tree care and removal. After discovering this to be a passion of his, he opened his own successful tree removal business called “Rowse’s Tree Service”. Beyond his career, Ryan found great joy spending quality time with his children and family.

Ryan deeply loved being outdoors, particularly camping, hunting, vacationing, or tubing down the river with his family and friends. Ryan was also well known for his natural talent at singing, not to mention his own personal style of heavy metal vocals. You would never hear of him turning down an opportunity to go karaoking with friends.

Surviving are his mother, Julia Clements of Kalamazoo; father, Timothy Rowse of Cadillac; children, Aiden Calvert of Burr Oak, Gavin Rowse of Kalamazoo, Summer (Tyler) Owens of Battle Creek, Constance Rowse of Battle Creek, Vincent Rowse of Kalamazoo; a grandson, River Owens; sister, Amy Swift of Battle Creek; brother, Thomas (Sarah) Rowse of Hastings; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. Ryan was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Darrell and Marlyn Clements; paternal grandparents, Jack and Barbara Rowse and a brother-in-law, Nathan Swift.

Friends will be received at 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Cremation Preneed Care, where a funeral service to celebrate Ryan’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 5, 2026. Committal and interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
