Sally Jean Emory

Sally Jean Emory, 72, of Battle Creek, Michigan died peacefully at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo on Thursday, October 22, 2026.

Sally was born January 3, 1954, in Battle Creek, Michigan at the former Leila Y. Post Montgomery Hospital the daughter of Virginia D. (Scott) Emory. Sally grew up in Battle Creek and was a 1972 graduate of Lakeview High School. She also attended Kellogg Community College to further her education. Sally was employed by the Federal Home Life Insurance Company in Battle Creek. She then commuted to Lansing, where she was employed in customer service and management at Jackson National Life Insurance Company, until retiring.

Sally is survived by many wonderful friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Virgina D. Emory and a brother, Phillip A. Emory.

She loved animals and most of her life had a dog as a companion. Sally enjoyed traveling, beaches and spending time with her friends. She was an avid reader. She went out of her way to help her friends in many ways. Sally will be remembered as a good friend, always generous, caring and giving to everyone.

Friends are invited to gather at Memorial Park Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 30, 2026, for a graveside celebration of Sally’s life. Arrangements are by Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Cremation Preneed Care.
