Sandra Jane Plambeck of Richland, MI
Sandra, nee Werner, age 79, passed away peacefully in hospice care on Tuesday, June 9, 2015, from complications relating to Alzheimer disease. Born August 19, 1935, in Cozad, Nebraska and united in marriage to Loren Gene Plambeck on April 6, 1958. Sandra raised a family in Cloquet, Minnesota, together with her husband Loren who survives her. Also surviving is her brother Charles (Nancy) Werner of Gainesville, FL; her daughters, Cathy (Tim) Picking of Richland, MI and Elizabeth Plambeck of Minneapolis, MN; two sons, Timothy (Peg) Plambeck of Lake Forest, IL and Stefan (Sharon Arad) Plambeck of St. Paul, MN; her beloved grandchildren, Anna Grace and Christopher Picking, Anasofie and Julia Plambeck (Tim and Peg) and Liam Plambeck (Stefan and Sharon), and great-grandson Kingston Johnson (Anna Grace). Sandra is preceded in death by her mother and father, Esther and Roy Werner; sister, Delores Brown and brother, Ronald Werner.
Sandra Plambeck practiced as a registered nurse for most of her life, going on to earn a nursing Master's degree in 1987 from the University of Wisconsin, Superior. She was very active as the parish nurse at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Cloquet, Minnesota. When care was needed, when a prayer was to be lifted or a meal was required, Sandra was always the one to provide for others. Her cooking, especially her pretzels, brought joy to many mouths and hearts. Family was always paramount to Sandra. Sharing a meal together and afterward laying around on the floor gabbing while listening to a Prairie Home Companion is a treasured family memory. Sandra travelled often with her husband, friends and family, touching all she met with her caring soul, her compassion, and her zest for living.
Sandra's life will be remembered with a small family gathering and memorial services in both Nebraska and Minnesota later this summer. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer Association at www.alz.org where Sandra volunteered for many years.
