Sarah R. Rohrbacher, age 20, of Battle Creek unexpectedly went to be with her Lord & Savior after a tragic accident on Tuesday evening, June 11, 2013 and is now safe in the arms of Jesus. Sarah was born in Battle Creek on January 11, 1993, the loving daughter of Gordon R. and Karla S. (Troxel) Rohrbacher. Sarah graduated from Pennfield High School with the Class of 2011 and was currently studying Juvenile Justice and Corrections at Kellogg Community College. Along with her studies, Sarah was currently employed at Art Van Furniture and Gordon Food Service.
Sarah had an amazing love for her fiancée, Matthew Peet, who is currently serving in Afghanistan, and his beloved son, Noah. She is survived by her parents; her sister, Olivia J. Rohrbacher of Battle Creek; her grandmothers, Marilyn Troxel and Joan King; her aunts & uncles, Ronna (Kevin) Jenkins of Georgia, Carol (Dennis) Seifferlein of Port Sanilac, MI, Connie (Bruce) Gutheridge of Hastings, Michael (Sharon) Rohrbacher of Lake Odessa, Alan (Stephanie) Rohrbacher of Lake Odessa and several cousins. Sarah was preceded in death by two grandfathers, Larry Troxel, Lawrence Rohrbacher and an aunt, Jodi L. Troxel.
Sarah deeply loved her sister, Olivia, and even with the normal sibling rivalry, they enjoyed their time together, going to dinner, movies and just being together as sisters. She was truly a lover of life and was always there with a word of encouragement, whether it be in person or on her social media sites. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and served on many of the youth group mission trips and weekly activities. She truly loved children and worked as a nanny for many summers. Sarah enjoyed listening to uplifting music, shopping, watching movies, and truly loved spending time with her family and many friends.
A visitation will be held 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 14, 2013 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home where funeral services to celebrate Sarah's life will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 15, 2013 with Pastor Tom Townsend of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating.
