Scott J Bartholomew, age 50, of Dowling went to be with his Lord & Savior on Monday afternoon, October 11, 2021 at Bronson Battle Creek. He was born in Vicksburg, Michigan on March 25, 1971, the son of Jerry and Bonnie (McGowan) Bartholomew. He graduated from Climax-Scotts High School with the Class of 1989 and continued his education at Cornerstone University. Scott worked for 30 years at Consumers Energy and was currently the Fleet and Facilities Director.
Scott married Carmen (Wood) Bartholomew at the Wakeshma Community Church on February 26, 2000; she survives. He is also survived by his mother, Bonnie Bartholomew; his children, Paul (Roxy) Bartholomew of Oklahoma, Erica (Travis) Brown of East Leroy, Taylor (Zach) Johnson of South Carolina, and Shane Bartholomew of Dowling; his grandchildren, Caiden, Jace, William, Eliyas, Caleb, Raelyn, and Jessie; his brothers, Travis (Trish) and Randy (Jessi) Bartholomew; his sister, Carla (Rick) McClish; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews. Scott was preceded in death by his father, Jerry on March 5, 2021, and his grandparents.
Scott had a great love for helping others and spreading God's Word. He was a longtime member of the Northeastern Baptist Church in Kalamazoo, the NRA, and the Sportsman's Club of Battle Creek. Scott also enjoyed fishing, hunting, wood working, farming, taking care of his cows, and spending time with his family and friends.
The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 14th at the Northeastern Baptist Church, 6536 East G. Avenue, Kalamazoo where funeral services to celebrate Scott's life will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 15th with Pastor Mark Holeman, officiating, and a luncheon to follow. Interment will follow at 2:45 p.m. at Morgan Cemetery in Leroy Township.
