Selma A. Elstun

Jan 27, 1938 — Oct 12, 2026

Galesburg

Selma Elstun passed away suddenly on Monday, October 12th, 2026. She had been a steadfast figure in her community and family for many years. Born in Akron, Ohio on January 27th, 1938, her 88 years of life were full of joy, challenges, adventure and love. Her prime rib roast was the stuff of family legend, and her table was often full of family (both official and chosen). Her many years of service as a nurse are evidence of, and perhaps reason for, her love of helping others.

She is preceded in death by her parents Linda and Marcel Reymann, the father of her children Carl Elstun, her brother Russell Reymann, and her daughter Linda Elstun.

She is survived by her siblings, Lucille, Carol, Colette, Marcia, Michelle, & Louis; her son KC Elstun; her son-in-law Michael DeForrest; her granddaughter Haley (Scott) Raines, and her four great grandchildren Wendy, Francis, Eddy, & George Raines.

Her legacy lives on in the lives of her family, countless patients, and all those she cared for. She led by example, and her memory will be a blessing to all who knew her.

A joint celebration of life open house will take place Sunday, October 18th in remembrance of both Selma and her daughter Linda, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm at Mike’s Team Active Bikes, at 22 W. Michigan Ave, Battle Creek, Michigan. Parking is available behind the building off of State Street. There will be a memorial Mass to follow on Wednesday, October 21st at 5:00pm at St. Ann Catholic Church, 12648 East D Avenue, Augusta, Michigan.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Foundation for Women’s Cancer at https://foundationforwomenscancer.org/
