Serah "Chris" Mcgough

"Chris" Serah Christene McGough, 78, of Comstock, died July 15, 2014 at her home. She was born March 20, 1936 the daughter of Elmer and Lena (Holcomb) Stanford in Sulligent Alabama. She lived in the Battle Creek area most of her life and was a cofounder of the Church of Christ, Marshall.
Chris was a nurse aid working for Senior Services for 17 years.
Chris is survived by two daughters, Vickie (Bill) Root, Connie Root; a son, James McGough; eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren. Brothers and sisters, Odeen Stanford, Carl Standard, Tiny Mae Farrell, Marie Bronkhma and seven step-brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Joyce Fortenbury and a granddaughter, Tiffany Root. She loved shoes, travel and talking.
A memorial service will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, July 25, 2014 at 20th Street Church of Christ with Pastor Josh Hydrick officiating. Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to the church. Arrangements are by the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home, Battle Creek, MI.
