Sharon K. Hoyt

September 24, 1938 — March 16, 2022

Sharon K. Hoyt, 83, of Battle Creek, died March 16, 2022. Sharon was born September 24, 1938 in Battle Creek to Bryson and Irene (Stringham) Dean. She graduated from Battle Creek Central High School and later went on to work at the Kellogg Company for 23 years.

Sharon loved animals of all kinds. She especially enjoyed feeding and watching the birds. Her TV was often on the Animal Planet station whenever nature and animal shows were on. She was a big bingo player, and liked to go to the casino. She also loved to watch sports on TV, especially the Detroit Lions. Because the Lions were their favorite football team her sons took her and their dad to the Ford Field for a home game. She must have been a good luck charm because the Lions won that game!!

When Sharon was younger she was an avid skater (roller skates) and she loved to race at the roller rinks. She was also involved and competed in skate dancing. When she was in the 8th grade she participated in a talent show at South Western Junior High School where she did a skate dancing routine. It was at this talent show that she first met the love of her life Stanley Hoyt.

Sharon is survived by her two sons, Kevin (Traci) Hoyt and Kurt (Wanda) Hoyt; five grandchildren, Kyle (Sarah) Hoyt, Kayla Hoyt, Alison (Rob Messenger) Hoyt, Bayli (Derik Odette) Hoyt and Danielle (Logan Vandenboss) Hoyt; two great-grandchildren, Ashland Hoyt and Malik Washington; a sister-in-law, Shirley Fahling and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sharon married Stanley Hoyt on May 20, 1957, who sadly preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Kevin "Kasey" Hoyt, Jr.
