Sharon R. Morgan, 86, of Battle Creek, went home to be with Jesus on January 21, 2023. She was born in Battle Creek on December 3, 1936 to Helen (Kleckner) Johnson and William Johnson. She was raised most of her life by her grandmother, Ethel Latta. She graduated from Nashville High School in 1954. Sharon met her husband to be, James Morgan from Battle Creek and they married in 1956. She worked at Sherriff Goslin Roofing Company and retired after 40 years.
Sharon was a member of Fort Custer Christian Assembly in Battle Creek and she loved her church family dearly and spoke of them often. She said that all through her lifetime of being in church she had never felt more loved and accepted. Sharon loved her family and she prayed often for her family, friends and loved ones. She also loved to vacation. She loved the Detroit Tigers and if you ever wanted to know about the team, she could give you the answers. She stood behind conservative values and never missed to vote in an election. She loved all animals (except worms) and loved her backyard wildlife and all her past pets.
Sharon is survived by her daughters, Melissa (Larry) Eib, Stacy (Tom) Shelly and Becky (Jason) Barnes; grandchildren, Susan, whom she helped raise, Josh (Sarah), Michael, Michelle, Tonya (Adam), Elijah (Kylie), Dante, Daryien, Eve and Shiloh; great-grandchildren, Autumn, Joseph, Grayson and Natalie and a brother, Richard (Joetta) Johnson. Sharon was preceded in death by her loving husband, James and her parents.
Visitation will be Monday, January 30, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Funeral services to celebrate Sharon's life will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 31st at Fort Custer Christian Assembly. A private interment will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Fort Custer Christian Assembly or the Humane Society of South Central Michigan.
