Sharon Ann (Stroebel) Stewart, age 78, of Zeeland, MI, formerly of Augusta, MI, North Port, FL and most recently of Richland, MI passed away Friday, March 25, 2016 at Medilodge of Holland, MI following a lengthy illness and with her loving family at her side.

Sharon, the daughter of Edward and Edna (Fritzenger) Stroebel, was born in Kalamazoo, MI on September 25, 1937 and was a 1955 graduate of Mattawan High School. She and her husband, Gene were the Owners and Operators of the Western Breed Store of Galesburg, MI, retiring in 1996. Sharon was a member of the Augusta Fellowship United Methodist Church. She was very adept with crafting and enjoyed games especially mahjong and bingo, but her passion in life was her family and friends.

Sharon was united in marriage to Charles Eugene "Gene" Stewart in Kalamazoo on June 1, 1957 and he sadly preceded her in death on August 13, 2013. Surviving are two daughters, Kimberly K. Taylor of Chattanooga, TN and Jody A. (Kraig) VanKoevering of Zeeland; her son, Scott S. Stewart of Atlanta, GA and her six precious grandchildren, Blake Smith, Cole (Julia) Smith, Jordan Taylor, Ashtyn, Tyce and Reagan VanKoevering. Sharon was also preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Colleen Pennington and a brother, Norman Stroebel.

The Funeral Service to celebrate Sharon's life will be held on Wednesday, March 30th at 11:00 a.m. at the Augusta (MI 49012) Fellowship United Methodist Church, 103 N. Webster Street, with Rev. Jennifer J. Wheeler, Pastor, officiating. She will be laid to rest with her husband, Gene at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, MI. Family and friends will return to the Church's Social Hall immediately following the committal service to continue Sharon's life celebration with a time of fellowship and a luncheon. Sharon's family will greet friends on Tuesday, March 29th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral & Cremation Care, Augusta Chapel, 307 N. Webster Street and on Wednesday at the Church, one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Church.
