Sheila P. Scheick

Sheila P. Scheick, age 67, of Ceresco passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side on Saturday evening, November 16, 2019. She was born in Tampa, Florida on March 14, 1952, the daughter of Thomas L. and Nina A. (Spurr) Powers. Sheila graduated from Biloxi High School in Biloxi, Mississippi with the Class of 1970 and furthered her education at Jefferson Davis Junior College. In 2017, she retired from Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care after more than 24 years of dedicated and exceptional service.

Sheila married the "Love of Her Life", Richard K. "Rick" Scheick in Biloxi, MS on September 2, 1972; he survives. She is also survived by her children, Melanie Scheick of Dearborn, MI, Lewis Scheick of Huntsville, TX, and Amanda (Cuyler) Ball of Battle Creek; her granddaughter, Melanie Ball of Battle Creek; her sister, Crystal Kent of Gulfport, MS; and her sister-in-law, Cheryl Scheick of Ceresco. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Cheryl Bond.

Family was always most important to Sheila. She was proud of all three of her children and what they have done with their lives, and she thanked God every day for sending Rick to make her life complete. Sheila enjoyed going to casinos, traveling, reading, and of course, drinking her Coca-Cola.

The family will receive friends 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, November 21st at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek where funeral services to celebrate Sheila's life will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 22nd with Rev. Dr. James M. Gysel, officiating. A private interment service will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta. Memorials directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan would be appreciated.
