Shirley Brizendine

Mr. Shirley Brizendine, Jr., 88, of Hastings, MI died at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence on Tuesday, July 25, 2017.

He was born May 5, 1929 in St. Joseph, Michigan to Shirley and Henrietta June (Smith) Brizendine. Shirley honorably served his country in the U.S. Maritime Service and in the U.S. Navy Seabees.

Shirley married Elnor Elaine Schmidt on April 28, 1962 in Berrien Springs, Michigan. Sadly he was preceded in death by his wife, Elnor on April 15, 1999. Surviving are a son-in-law, Steve Bower; son and daughter-in-law, Rob and Sandra Brizendine; daughter and son-in-law, Tom and Dana Mrozinski; grandchildren, Carry, Jeff, Brandon, Tiajha, Tyler; great-grandchildren, Mason, Allison, Zachary and Charlotte. In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by his father; mother, Henrietta Garrett; and a daughter, Linda Bower.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting and woodworking.
