Shirley A. Warner, 89, of Battle Creek, died July 22, 2024. Shirley was born February 12, 1935 in Battle Creek to Fred and Lillian (Disler) Lawrence. She married C. James Warner on July 14, 1956. Shirley worked at Bell Telephone and then worked for Muir Drug and later Rite Aide Pharmacy.
Shirley was a member of the Parent Teacher Association when her daughters were in elementary school. She enjoyed country music and listening to the Great Crooners, her favorite being Dean Martin. She never missed the Lawrence Welk Show and a chance to hear the “Rat Pack.” She held a life-long interest in alternative health issues and spent late nights sending out emails on the most recent research on topics such as Fibromyalgia and Celiac disease. Later on she enjoyed watching Shark Tank and loved to watch golf.
Shirley is survived by her two daughters, Janice Warner of Akron, OH and Linda Kay (Jack) Hickerson of Farmington Hills, MI; two brothers, Irving (Cathy) Lawrence of Climax, MI and Fred Lawrence of Big Rapids, MI; many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews and two close friends, Emily Bowman and Darlene Bowman.
Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband, C. James Warner and a sister, Doris (Keith) Coller.
Funeral services to celebrate Shirley’s life will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 3, 2024 at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Parkinsons Foundation.
