Stanley K. “Stan” Mains, 87, of Battle Creek, died August 10, 2025. Stan was born February 3, 1938 in Battle Creek to Dewitt and Pansy (Winslow) Mains. He graduated from Battle Creek Central High School and then served his country honorably in the United States Air Force. Stan was happily married to his wife, Linda, for 64 years.

Stan was employed at the Federal Center in Battle Creek for 27 years. He spent many years of happy retirement afterwards. He enjoyed doing yard work and playing pool. Stan loved the MSU Spartans, always cheering on their football and basketball teams.

Stan is survived by his loving wife, Linda; their two children, Lisa Day and Kevin Mains; grandchildren, Ryan Day, Alyssa Gilman and Audrey Mains; a great-granddaughter, Mia Gilman; a sister, Virginia Duflo and a brother, David Mains.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents and 5 brothers, Rollin, Virgil, Richard, Kenneth and James Mains.

A graveside service to celebrate Stan’s life will be Friday, August 29th, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Friends are invited to a luncheon immediately following Fort Custer for a memorial gathering and to celebrate Stan’s life. Memorial donations may be made to Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. Arrangements by the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Personal messages for the family may be placed at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.
