Stella A. Morgan

June 13, 1918 — May 13, 2016

Stella A. Morgan of Laureldale, PA and formerly of Battle Creek, MI

Stella passed away at age 97 on Friday, May 13, 2016. Stella, the daughter of Arthur and Anna Teryzcak, was born in Passaic, NJ on June 13, 1918. She was predeceased by her husband, Cecil Morgan; her beloved son, Ronald Lee Morgan; her parents; her brothers, Andy and Felix, and sister, Mary. She retired from the Kellogg Company after 42 years of service.

Stella was a beautiful woman who took great pride in her appearance, never going out of her house without full makeup and well¬coiffured hair. She loved feeding the squirrels and birds in her yard and maintaining her well¬manicured yard and flower garden. When she couldn't do the work herself, she would follow behind the yardman, telling him exactly what to cut, trim or replant. She was very attached to the various dogs and cats that she adopted during her lifetime.

She was an avid supporter of all Detroit professional sports teams. She watched baseball, football and basketball, and could name all the players – often yelling at the TV to encourage them.

Her proudest achievement was her son, Richard and his wife, Allie of Oley, PA and their family. She has two grandchildren, Ronald (wife, Linda) Wilmington, NC, Tracy (partner, John Harvey), Oley, PA and four great grandchildren, Duane (wife, Beth and children Stellan and Greeley Morgan), Cecil (wife, Amy and children Isabella, Emily and Bryce Morgan), Keah Patterson (sons Ben Reed and Mason Gleeson), Karissa Zimmerman (spouse Rob and children Gloria, Aubrie and Riley).

She was generous with both emotional and financial support for all her family when there was a need. Until she had health issues, each year she spent Christmas holidays with her entire family. She attended both great¬grandson's weddings and danced with both of them at their receptions.

She was a very special woman who brought a lot of joy to our lives. Her devotion, generosity and unconditional love of family set a high standard for all of us to live by. She will be dearly missed.

The Funeral Liturgy to celebrate Stella's life will be held on Saturday, May 21st at 11:00 a.m. at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek. Stella's family will greet friends on Saturday, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Reese Cemetery, Springfield, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Stella's honor may be directed to the Humane Society of South Central Michigan, 2500 Watkins Road, Battle Creek, MI 49015.
