Stephen John "Steve" Galloup

Stephen John "Steve" Galloup, 71, a lifelong Battle Creek resident died Monday, February 3, 2020 at the Laurels of Bedford.

Steve was born October 4, 1948 in Battle Creek, Michigan the son of John Olin and Marilyn Theresa (Eckrich) Galloup. He graduated from St. Philip Catholic Central in 1967 and earned a Bachelor's Degree in General Business, with a minor in accounting. Steve previously owned and operated bookkeeping and accounting service. Steve joined the computer age in its early days and assisted many people and businesses to set up their first computers and programs.

Steve was formerly married to Janelle Bryant and they had two children together, Anthony & Emily. Surviving are his former wife, Janelle; son, Anthony Stephen "Tony" Galloup; grandchildren, Nolan Galloup, Jayden, Galloup and Jorey Galloup; four sisters, Jean VandenBerg, Ann (Gregg) Agens, Theresa (Rod) Burke, Jessica Fleming; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. Steve was preceded in death by his daughter, Emily Elizabeth Galloup; parents; two brothers, Mark A. Galloup and John C. Galloup and a sister, Karen Oliver.

Steve had attended St. Philip Roman Catholic Church and St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church. He was a 26 year member of the Battle Creek Exchange Club and held all the leadership levels including district vice president. Steve was talented with artistic skills, enjoyed working with computers, fishing, sailing and was a people person. Most important to him were his children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters and their families. Steve will be remembered as a strong-willed, creative man, who wanted the best for everyone.

A service to celebrate Steve's life will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2020, at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, where friends will be received the hour prior to services. Inurnment will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery.
