Stephenie Jae Barrett, age 57, of Battle Creek passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 1, 2023, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She was born in Battle Creek, Michigan on August 25, 1965, the daughter of Roger and Judith L. (Derickson) Anderson. She graduated from Battle Creek Central High School and took night classes online to advance her career. Stephenie worked at Goodwill Industries for many years where she served as a manufacturing supervisor. She loved her job and knowing she was making a difference in her community and helping people. She was passionate about life and helping the people she loved. She always had the solution or was willing to help find one.

She truly enjoyed history & genealogy, learning about the past and thinking about the future, she always said "you have to keep your mind going." She was a photographer, she loved taking pictures and had an eye for capturing beauty in any moment. She enjoyed crocheting & knitting, along with spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Being a grandma was one of her greatest joys.

Stephenie was married to Tony Lee Barrett in Battle Creek on August 10, 2001; they shared 25 loving unforgettable years together. Stephenie is survived by her loving husband Tony Lee Barrett, she is also survived by her children, Brittany Anderson, Anthony (Alyssa) Barrett, Jason Rond, Jason Barrett, and Jake "Samantha" Rond; her grandchildren of which she cherished more than anything, Lillyann Jae Thurman, Lincoln Thurman, Charlotte Barrett, and Oscar Barrett; and her brothers & sisters, Stacy Hislop, John Norton, Robert Norton, and Holly (Dennis) Norton-McKeen. She was sadly preceded in death by her son, Shawn Rond; her parents, Judith Norton and Roger Anderson; and a brother, Gregg Anderson.

The family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 10th at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek. Memorials may be directed to United Way or the Calhoun County Red White & Blue Foundation, C/O the Battle Creek Community Foundation.
