Steven Ernest "Steve" Cameron

June 7, 1957 — July 13, 2022

Steven Ernest "Steve" Cameron, age 65, of Battle Creek, passed away July 13, 2022 in his home, surrounded by family, after surviving with Parkinson's disease for many years. Steve was born on June 7, 1957 in Port Huron, Michigan. He graduated from Port Huron Central High School and gained an associate's degree from Saint Clair County Community College. Steve maintained jobs in the computer and electronics field, and he traveled across the state for work over many years. Steve and Tamara (Francisco) Cameron were married on September 12, 1987 and relocated to Battle Creek where they went on to raise 3 beautiful daughters.

When Steve was young, he enjoyed working at his family's greenhouse and marina, and his love of sailing on the family sailboat remained through the years. He enjoyed photography and often took pictures of his family's performances and events, vacations, and special occasions. Steve also looked forward to attending the Field of Flight Air Show and Balloon Festival every year with his family. Steve was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection in Battle Creek, where he was the longtime treasurer prior to debilitation due to his Parkinson's disease. Steve and his dog, Charlie, were the best of friends who went on many walks and car rides together.

Steve is survived by Tamara, his wife of 34 years; daughters, Elizabeth Cameron (Joel Fulton), Emily Cameron (Jon Salinas), and Laura Cameron (Jace Le Fevere); sisters, Patricia (William) Harvey, Deborah Cameron, and Christine Cameron; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eldon and Nila Jean Cameron, and brother, Craig Cameron.

A memorial service in Steve's honor will take place at a later time. In lieu of flowers, memorials directed to the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection, Battle Creek or the Michigan Parkinson Foundation, would be appreciated. Arrangements by Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek.
