Steven I. Cutler

Steven I. Cutler “Grandpa Santa”, age 71, of Kalamazoo, died Saturday morning, September 13, 2025 at Rose Arbor Place in Kalamazoo. He was born in Kalamazoo on May 26, 1954, the son of Ira Alonzo and Doris Eileen (Epsy) Cutler. Steven graduated from Gull Lake High School with the Class of 1972 and worked for many years with Checker Motors, EM Sergeant and Galesburg Heating & Cooling.

Steven is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth “Beth” (Shane Rice) Billman of Delton and Kimberly “Kim” (Fred) Milton of Kalamazoo; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; his brother, Dale Cutler of Kalamazoo; his dear friend, Willard (Buddha)Campbell; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and several aunts & uncles.

Steven was a member of the New Hope Church in Richland. He had an incredible passion for trains and going to train shows, all over the area. He also enjoyed drawing, flower gardening, watching & feeding the birds, and spending time with his family.

The Memorial Gathering and Luncheon to celebrate Steven’s life will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the New Hope Church, 9300 East D. Avenue (M-89), Richland, MI 49083. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to his family. The Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Richland Chapel is assisting Steven’s family.
