Steven Sang-Sang

Steven Sang Sang (Tawng Tun) (May 28, 1985 – February 2, 2026)

Steven Sang Sang was born on May 28, 1985, in Inginkhone Village. He was the son of the late Norbert Sang Thawng and Monica Hrin Thluai, and the seventh of eight children.

In 2000, Steven moved to Malaysia, where he later built a family with his wife, Banedeth Zung Hngel (Paulina Fung Zun Khim) in 2009. In 2011, he and his family relocated to the United States. They were blessed with four children—two born in Malaysia and two in the United States. Until recently, Steven was employed at Flex-N-Gate.

On January 30, 2026, Steven was unexpectedly taken to the hospital. After being hospitalized for three nights and four days, he did not recover and peacefully returned to his Heavenly Father on February 2, 2026, at 12:15 p.m.

Steven is survived by his beloved wife, Banedeth, and his children: Joseph Hrang Lian Khim, Jerome San Nei Thang, Emily Thian Nuam Rem, and Maria Thian Nei Khim. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Kip Hlen. He is also survived by his siblings: Tuah Lian Thang (Tahan), Rosemary Ram Cer (Yangon), Monica Khin Htwe (Yangon), Thian Uk Thang (Tahan), James Za Nei Thang (Inginkhone), and John Thawng Heli Hmung (Inginkhone).

Visitation will be Friday, February 6, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 2:30 p.m. at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care.  A Funeral Mass to celebrate Steven's life will be 12:30 p.m., Saturday, February 7 at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
