Susan Jane "Susie" Colby

Susan "Susie" Jane (Berry) Colby, of Black Oak, AR and formerly of Battle Creek died Friday, July 22nd in Jonesboro, AR, at the age of 49 after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

Susan is survived by her husband, Ernest F. Colby III and daughter, Samantha Jane Colby of Black Oak, AR. Also surviving are her mother, Arlene (Weever) Berry of Springfield and two brothers, Paul Berry of Burlington and James (Dawn) Berry of Marshall. She was preceded in death by her father, James F. Berry.

Susan was born on April 4, 1967, in Battle Creek, MI and graduated from Springfield High School in 1986. She married Ernest Colby in 1998. After the family moved to Arkansas in 2009, Susan worked for Nuance Healthcare as a medical transcriptionist. Susan cherished being a wife and mother above all. She was a great sister, aunt and friend. Susan will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held 1:00 p.m., Thursday, July 28th, at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek. A visitation will be held for one hour prior to the funeral and a reception will follow at the American Legion Post #298, 228 N 20th St., Battle Creek.
