Susan Carole (Roberts) "Sue" Hegerberg

Susan Carole (Roberts) "Sue" Hegerberg, 73, of Battle Creek, Michigan died at home with her loving family at her side on Monday, June 15, 2015.

Susan was born January 4, 1942, in Evanston, Illinois, the daughter of Jack S.H. and Dorothy (Anthony) Roberts. Her parents moved to Dearborn, MI where she graduated from Edsel Ford High School in 1960. During her high school years and college she worked part-time at Greenfield Village. Susan attended Adrian College where she met her husband. She and Bob were married June 23, 1962 at the Martha Mary Chapel at Greenfield Village. She also attended Michigan State University before they moved to Battle Creek in 1964.

In 1979, Susan became a realtor working for Pearse Realty, later with the ReMax Associates and presently with Berkshire Hathaway Home Services, until her illness.

Susan is a member of the Maple United Methodist Church, serving on several committees; member of the Battle Creek and National Association of Realtors; former member and past president of the Battle Creek Jaycee Auxiliary; Board member of the former Leila Hospital Divisional Board of Directors where she served for 10 years. As well as, serving on the Board of Kambly Living Center, she also loved and volunteered for the Battle Creek Balloon Championships for 16 years, as well other ballooning events.

She is a member of the Y-Center where she enjoyed the "Y" Girls, swimming and working out. Other associations included, Leila Hospital Auxiliary, Leila Follies Board of Directors, Binder Park Zoo Board of Directors and a founding member on the Battle Creek Chamber of Commerce Chamber Ambassador Board.

Susan was a worldwide traveler, including spending time in Florida with her family and friends every March. She also enjoyed Scrapbooking on weekends and attending National Madame Alexander Doll Club Conventions for the last 27 years with Sheri. She also enjoyed her grandson Jack, watching all his sporting events and spoiling him along the way, too. Susan is survived by her husband, Robert E. "Bob" Hegerberg; daughter, Sheri L. (Donald) Berry of Battle Creek; son, Jeffrey R. (Stacey) Hegerberg of Lake Orion, MI; a grandson, Jack Robert Hegerberg; a sister, Barbara (Bob) Lemke of Strongsville, Ohio; step-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren and her three grand doggies.

Friends will be received 3:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Funeral services will be officiated by Rev. Linda Stoddard and Rev. Harold Filbrandt at the funeral home 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 18, 2015. Interment will take place at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Bath MI at a later date.
