Susie (Fleming) Lewis of Battle Creek, MI

Susie, age 86, died Friday morning, August 16, 2019 at her residence with her loving family at her side.

Susie (Fleming) Lewis was born in Luxora Arkansas, the daughter of Fred and Lulaner Atkins. After the loss of her father, she and her mother moved to Illinois where Lulaner met and married Johnny Fleming who adopted Susie, moved the family to Michigan and raised her as his own. Susie retired from Michigan paper Co. as lead person after 26 years of dedicated service. She enjoyed dancing, collecting and taking photos, shopping, decorating, attending church, dressing to the nine, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grand/ great, great grandchildren, and special friends Betty Banks and Betty Jones just to name a few. She also enjoyed talking and visiting with her Aunts Ruth Ellis and Cassie Ryan.

A Going Home Service to celebrate Susie's life will be held on Saturday, August 24th at 11 a.m. in the Faith Assembly Christian Fellowship, 400 W. Michigan Avenue, Battle Creek, with the Rev. Christopher McCoy, Pastor, officiating. Susie's family will greet friends on Saturday one hour prior to the Service in the Church. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Battle Creek. The Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care is assisting Susie's family.
