Suzanne (Triana) DiVitto, 97, of Battle Creek, passed away Tuesday November 15, 2016 in her home surrounded by family. She suffered complications brought on by Polycythemia Vera, a rare blood disorder.
She was born November 17, 1918 in Battle Creek, MI. Suzanne was preceded in death by her parents Lazor and Krista Risteff and her son, Robin Joseph DeRushia. Suzanne lived her entire life in Battle Creek, dedicating all of her time to her children and family. She is survived by her sister Georgia Norton, husband Ralph DiVitto, and five children; Cherie DeRushia, Lynn DeRushia, Randy DiVitto, Giovanni DiVitto, and Raffaele DiVitto.
She attended Battle Creek Central High School through to the 10th grade where she played on the women's basketball team. Suzanne and Ralph married in 1946.
In her later life, she dedicated a great deal of time to her thirteen grandchildren. Gardening, dancing, Macedonian conventions/music, and wearing her high heels were her favorite passions and pastimes. She would not leave the house until she was dressed to kill. Her surviving children and grandchildren have voted her the most selfless and loving woman they will ever know. She spent all her time caring for others, by cooking family dinners, baking all birthday cakes and even acting as the quintessential Snow White by feeding the ducks, birds, deer and squirrels that resided in her yard.
Friends may call at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care Thursday, November 17, from 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, November 18, 2016, at 10:30 am.
