Tara Garcia Richardson

Tara L. Garcia Richardson, 43, of Battle Creek, passed away Monday, October 8, 2018 at her home with her family by her side. Tara was born April 25, 1975 in Battle Creek to Reyes and Eva Jean (Henderson) Williams. She graduated from Battle Creek Central High School and the Ross Dental Assistant Program.

Tara loved music, Spanish dances, family reunions and playing softball. She enjoyed taking trips and family vacations. Her most adventurous trip was when she and her daughter Courtni went skydiving.

Tara is survived by her father, Reyes Garcia; her three children, Courtni (Byron) Alexander and Damon and Caleb Richardson; two grandchildren, Grace and Nasir Alexander; her siblings, Tonya Garcia, Melissa (Steve) Brady, Reyes Garcia, Jr., Lori Garcia, Shawn (Stephanie) Garcia and Melissa Gordon; her maternal grandmother, Rosa Lee Newton and her maternal Aunts: Etta Little and Corda (Richard) Moss, paternal aunts: Lupe Schultz, Mary Leche, Irene (Larry) Fox, Gloria Garcia and Special Aunt Beatrice Rollins; paternal uncles: Reno Traevino, Juan Garcia, Jose Garcia, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Tara was preceded in death by her mother, Eva J. Williams; a brother, John Williams; her maternal grandfathers, James C. Henderson and Walter F. Newton; her paternal grandparents Jose C. And Lucy Garcia; two aunts, Josie Bombard and Sylvia Garcia.

A memorial service to celebrate Tara's life will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, officiated by Pastor Jeff Davis. Memorial gifts may be made to the Indiana University School of Medicine Alzheimer's Disease Research in Neurology.
