Teresa Kaye (Mansfield) Story

Teresa K. (Mansfield) Story, a life-long resident of Battle Creek, passed away January 7, 2025 at the age of 67 after a short illness.

Teresa was born in Battle Creek on October 27, 1957 to Jones J. Mansfield and Gail D. (Hudson) Hutchins and graduated from Gull Lake High School with the Class of 1976. She went on to marry William “Bill” Story in 1985. Together they had their daughter, Lacey N. (Story) Robbins in 1986. Teresa continued to work as the Lead Server at Speeds Coffee Shop for many years where she met her life-partner, Joseph E. “Joe” Ogden. A short time later they had their daughter, Lynzi L. Ogden in 1994. They continued as partners in this crazy world and eventually became grandparents. Teresa loved her children and grandchildren. 

Teresa was preceded in death by her life-partner of 31 years, Joseph E. “Joe” Ogden on November 15, 2024; her beautiful daughter, Lacey N. (Story) Robbins in 2014; her loving father Jones J. Mansfield in 2012; her step-mother, Lucy Mansfield in 2016; and her nephew, Ryan T. Basner in 1985. 

Teresa is survived by her mother, Gail D. (Hudson) Hutchins; her daughter, Lynzi L. Ogden; her step-children, Nicole C. (Yother) Virgil, and Cal R. Yother, all of Battle Creek along with her grandchildren, Shia, Nyjhere, Zyere, Nariah, Tayveon, Kalaijah, and Tyshawn; her siblings, Brenda L. Mansfield of Delton, James D. Basner, Leighsa G. Basner, Pamela M. Basner, and William J. “Bill” Mansfield, all of Battle Creek, Jennie Rose (Mansfield) Trujillo of San Antonio, TX; step-brother, Brian J. Mansfield of Battle Creek; and many nieces & nephews. 

 At Teresa’s request, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family, c/o her daughter, Lynzi L. Ogden. Personal messages for the family may be placed at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.
