Teresa Mary (O'Neil) Piner, age 90, of Richland, MI
Teresa, age 90, died Wednesday morning, June 17, 2015 at MetroHealth, Wyoming, MI following a brief illness.
Teresa, the daughter of Orlando and Marie (Cassidy) O'Neil, was born in Kalamazoo, MI on July 20, 1924 and was a lifetime area resident. She was employed at Fort Custer during World War II and was a member of the Gull lake United Methodist Church in Richland. Teresa had a unique and extremely large collection of Santa Claus Figurines and had a passion for the Soo Locks.
Teresa was united in marriage to Robert B. "Bob" Piner in Ellsmere, KY on August 23, 1945 and he sadly preceded her in death on June 7, 1989 after 44 years of marriage. Surviving are two daughters, Leona M. (Jack) Klepser of Comstock Park, MI and Dolores K. "Dee" (Bill) Wagner of Grand Rapids, MI; her son Robert J. (Katy) Piner of Bonduel, WI; by her four precious grandchildren, Katie (Jahvel) Washington, Casey (Lacey) Wagner, Kim (Rich) Urbanski and Michele Rose and by three great grandchildren, Anthony, Tyler and Dallas. Teresa was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mary Ford and three brothers, John, Michael and Robert O'Neil.
The Funeral Service to celebrate Teresa's life will be held on Monday, June 22nd at 11:00 a.m. in the Gull Lake United Methodist Church, 8640 Gull Road, Richland with Rev. Dan Minor of Plainwell, MI and Lay Minister Todd Jenner, officiating. Friends will be received on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until Service Time at the Church. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Bob at Prairie Home Cemetery, Richland. Immediately following the Committal Service, family and friends will continue Teresa's life celebration returning to the Church Fellowship Hall for a time of fellowship and a luncheon. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Teresa's honor may be directed to the Gull Lake United Methodist Church or the Richland Township Volunteer Fire Department, 7401 32nd Street, Richland, MI 49083.
