Thomas L. Godde

Thomas L. Godde, 85, of Augusta, died July 14, 2026. Thomas was born October 28, 1940 in Battle Creek to George and Helen (Reams) Godde. He graduated from Kellogg High School. He worked at the Kellogg Company, where he was affectionally known was “The Buzzard,” retiring in 1999.

Thomas was a member of the Kellogg 25 Year Club. He loved golfing and enjoyed playing cards, doing jigsaw puzzles and going to the casino. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Ross Augusta Fire Department for 25 years and was a 4H leader as well. Thomas was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Augusta where he was an usher.

Thomas married the former Janet Yurisich on April 20, 1963, who survives. He is also survived by their three children, Michele (William) Lubitz, Matthew (Terrie) Godde and Andrew (Lori) Godde; grandchildren, Benjamin Lubitz, Charles (Kaitlyn) Lubitz and Denise (Gage) Lammers; a sister, Jean (Steve) Ough and several nieces and nephews and brother-in-law, Robert Lewis. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Lewis.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Augusta with a luncheon to immediately follow at the church. A Rosary Service will begin at 10:30 a.m., just preceding the Mass. Memorial donations may be made to the Augusta McKay Library.
