Thomas Mackie

Thomas J. Mackie, age 93, of Battle Creek, Michigan passed away on December 12, 2021.
Tom was born on July 14th, 1928 in Ashland, Wisconsin, the son of Thomas and Mary Mackie. On October 17, 1953, he married Beverly Zar in Ashland, Wisconsin. The couple moved to Battle Creek in 1963. Tom taught psychology at Kellogg Community College for thirty years and previously taught high school in San Bernardino, California. He served in the Army of Occupation in Japan 1946-1948. He enjoyed teaching, tennis, skiing, Lake Superior and a good or bad joke.
Tom is survived by his wife, Beverly Mackie; one son, Thomas R. (Denise) Mackie, of Battle Creek, MI; two daughters, Diane Mackie, of Marshall, MI; Ann Marie (Mike) Renaud, of Marshall, MI; three grandchildren, Josie (Tony) Bartolacci, Bryce and Blake Mackie; and two great grandchildren, Joe and Ainsley Bartolacci.
At the family's request, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral services. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that Memorial Contributions may be made to the Humane Society of South Central Michigan, 2500 Watkins Road, Battle Creek, MI. 49015.
