Thomas "Allen" Smith

Thomas "Allen" Smith 61, of Battle Creek, died at his home on Sunday, September 30, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was born June 15, 1957 in Dayton, Tennessee, the son of Thomas L. and Cleatus "Juanita" (Hicks) Smith, but he was raised by his step-father, Joe Kowen. He was a 1975 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School.

Allen was a Die Setter employed by Flex-N-Gate in Battle Creek. He retired in 2014 due to his health. In earlier years, he worked in lawn care.

Allen was united in marriage to Ondrae Corkins on July 1, 1995, happily married 23 years and together 2 years before that; she survives. He is also survived by his sons, Chad (Krystal) Smith, Brad (Lisa) Smith, J. Blaine (Tabatha) Hall, Billy (Tasha) Smith and Cortney (Mayce) Smith, all of Battle Creek; eighteen grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Allen loved spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed working on cars, camping and working in his yard, landscaping.

Funeral services to celebrate Allen's life were held Thursday, October 4, 2018 at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, with Rev. Robert G. Muirhead, officiating.
