Thomas C. "Thom" West, Jr.

Thomas C. “Thom” West, Jr., 56, died unexpectedly at home on September 29, 2026. Thom was born August 10, 1970 in Battle Creek to Thomas and Beverly (Stockwell) West, Sr. He graduated high school and went on to work for the Kellogg Company for many years.

Thom married the love of his life, the former Andrea Barnes on June 22, 2013, who survives. He is also survived by Andrea’s two daughters, whom he truly loved as his own, Ashley (Adam) Peck and Emily (Devin) Starks; six grandchildren, Iris, Adaline, NeKlaus, Lexi, Pierson and Parker; two sisters, Kari (Tim) Castleberry and Kimberly West and many nieces and nephews. Thom was preceded in death by his parents.

Thom was a naturally inclined tradesman who could fix anything. He was always fixing things around the house or the farm. Thom spent a lot of time outdoors and enjoyed hunting. He cared about his family and animals around the house and was very proud of everything he and Andrea had built. He was also a man of faith. Thom always took the time to minister and pray with those close to him and helped many people in their walk with the Lord. He and Andrea were members at Overflow Church. Thom also enjoyed online gaming. He had many virtual friends he met through Lord of the rings online (LOTRO).

Visitation will be Monday, October 5, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care and Tuesday, October 6, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Overflow Church, where a funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Jeff Davis. A luncheon will immediately follow the service at the church.
