Timmy D. "Tim" Tritsch

July 7, 1950 — August 19, 2017

Timmy D. "Tim" Tritsch, 67, of Richland, passed away peaceful at his home, Saturday, August 19, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Tim was born July 7, 1950 in Shenandoah, Iowa to Delbert and Yvonne (Michel) Tritsch. He graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a Master's and Specialist Degree in Guidance and Counseling. He proudly served in the United State Army for 21 years, retiring as a Major in 1993. In 2015, Tim completed his career as a project manager for the Defense Logistics Agency in Battle Creek.

On February 7, 1970, Tim married his high school sweetheart, Pamela (Herzberg) Tritsch who survives. Also surviving are their four children, Tina Tritsch, Tracee Gravatt, Todd Tritsch and Tara (David) Smith; six grandchildren, Payton Davis, Tatum and Gannon Gravatt, Logann and Karsyn Johnson and Sophia Tritsch; three brothers, Terry (Leslie) Tritsch, Kurt (Carol) Meskimen and Mark (Pat) Meskimen and a sister, Kristina (Chuck) Thompson, several brothers-in-law, a sister-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ted Tritsch and Greg Meskimen as well as Leland Meskimen, his father from age five following the unexpected death of his birth father.

Tim had a passion for the outdoors and loved to hunt, fish, golf and ski. He enjoyed singing, cooking and attending social and athletic events with his children and grandchildren. Tim and Pam traveled the world together, including Europe and North, South and Central America as well as the Caribbean.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 23, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Richland Chapel. Funeral services to celebrate Tim's life will be 12:30 p.m., Thursday, August 24 at the Kalamazoo First Presbyterian Church, 321 W. South St., Kalamazoo, MI 49007. Interment with full military honors will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Fisher House Foundation.
