Timothy James "Pops" Wilson, age 64, of Battle Creek died Monday evening, October 2, 2017 at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo. He was born in Lansing, Michigan on July 4, 1953, the son of James H. "Jim" and Janet E. (Bradford) Wilson Jr. and faithfully served his country as a member of the United States Army. He retired from the Battle Creek VA Hospital after more than 31 years of service.
Pops married Susan A. "Susie" Stuck at the Fort Custer Chapel on July 26, 1980; she survives. He is also survived by his sons, Sean "Odin" Wilson and Corey Wilson, both of Battle Creek; his father, Jim (Jo Ann) Wilson Jr. of Battle Creek; 2 brothers, Michael "Mike" (Denise) Wilson of Battle Creek and Jeff (Patti) Wilson of Battle Creek; his sister, Carolyn (CeCe) Wilson of Toledo, Ohio; sister-in-law, Jackie Wilson of Battle Creek and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews. Pops was sadly preceded in death by his mother, Janet E. Wilson on February 7, 1989; and his brother, Patrick "Gilligan" Wilson on April 20, 2015.
Pops was a member of the SW Michigan Iron Coffins and the BC Bass Casters. Pops was a Harper Creek Jr. football coach and was an Eagle Scout. He loved riding his motorcycle, bass fishing and spending time with his family & friends.
At Pops' request, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Run to celebrate Pops' life will be held Saturday, October 21, 2017 at the SW Michigan Iron Coffins Clubhouse, 15 Gilbert Street, Battle Creek.
