Tine (Pestoor) Mulder, 89, of Battle Creek passed away at the Laurels of Bedford on Sunday, April 30, 2017.
She was born October 28, 1927 in Uithuizen, Netherlands the daughter of Jan and Jantje (VanDyken) Pestoor. She immigrated to the United States in 1954.
Tine married Melvin Mulder on April 1, 1955 in Kalamazoo. Sadly she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin February 1, 1993. Surviving are a daughter, Jane A. (Stan) Arent of Dowling; two sons, Gary (Debbie) Mulder of Battle Creek, Leo (Robin) Mulder of Grand Rapids; seven grandchildren; 6+ great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Piet (Jantje) Pestoor, Joop (Elly) Pestoor, Gine (Henk) Til, and Harm (Hilly) Pestoor all of the Netherlands, Bill (Catherine) Pestoor and Jim (Grace) Pestoor both of Kalamazoo, and a half-sister, Trees of Australia. In addition to her husband, Tine was also preceded in death by her parents, a stepmother, Jeltje Pestoor; sister, Didy Enter and a half-sister, Gina.
Tine was a longtime member of Covenant Hope Church, 1021 Wagner Drive, Battle Creek, MI, its Sunshine Circle and the Ladies Circle. She was a volunteer at the B.C. Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Tine loved playing cards and enjoyed doing needlepoint, and gardening.
Friends will be received 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Funeral services will be held at Covenant Hope Church 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 4, 2017. Committal and interment will be held at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
