In Loving Memory of Toby Conine

Our hearts are broken as we share the loss of our Son, a Brother, a Father, an Uncle and a Cousin.

Toby Conine, who passed away after a devastating and aggressive battle with leukemia. What began as an unimaginable diagnosis quickly turned our world upside down. Toby fought with everything he had, but this disease moved faster than anyone could have imagined.

Toby was the kind of person who made people feel seen and welcomed. He had a big heart, a kind soul, and a way of bringing laughter into even the hardest moments. One thing everyone knew about Toby was his love for Michigan sports— he was an avid Michigan fan through and through. Whether it was cheering on the Wolverines, talking stats, or proudly wearing maize and blue, that passion was a part of who he was and brought him so much joy. Toby also absolutely loved WWF Wrestling. He could talk about wrestlers for hours and relive classic matches like they were happening all over again. That love carried over into real life, where he was always wrestling around with his cousins and family members, laughing, joking, and turning everyday moments into memories. Those playful, joyful times are something our family will cherish forever.

During his illness, Toby endured intense treatments and long hospital stays, all while showing strength and courage that inspired us every day. He continued to face each day with determination and heart, reminding all us what true strength looks like.

Toby leaves behind his parents, Frederick and Dominga Conine; brother, Troy (Billie) Conine; sister, Jody Conine (James Lambrich); nephews, Eric Campbell II, Ryan (Sarah) Campbell; nieces, Cristina Campbell and Olivia Conine; son; Zack Brown; daughter, Breanna Packer; son-in-law, Brandon Clevenger and 2 grandsons, Bruce and Brogan Clevenger;  2 great-nieces, Natalie Gjonai, Heidi Aldrich; 2 great-nephews, Sawyer and Clayton Campbell; and his dear friend, Laura Johnson, all of Battle Creek.  Toby was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alfredo & Dominga Ramos, Nelson & Margarette Conine; uncles, Blas Antonio Ramos, Roy Ramos, Larry Ramos; and aunt, Jo Ann Banning.

Now, as our family grieves this sudden loss, we are also facing the unexpected financial burdens that come with medical care, funeral arrangements, and honoring Toby the way he deserves. We are raising funds to help relieve that burden and allow our family the space to mourn, remember, and celebrate Toby’s life.

Any donation, no matter the amount, will mean more than words can express. (Cash App: $OliviaConine). If you’re unable to give, we ask that you please consider sharing this page and keeping Toby and our family in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your love, support, and for helping us honor Toby’s memory.
