Vera Viola Case, age 87, of Battle Creek died peacefully on Monday morning, January 20, 2014 at the Manor of Battle Creek. She was born in Battle Creek on August 1, 1926, the loving daughter of Leo J. and Florence (Roatch) Bradstreet. Vera retired from Post Cereals in 1988 after more than 25 years of faithful service.
Vera is survived by her twin sons, Daniel L. (Kelly) Case and Conant G. Case, both of Battle Creek; her siblings, Erma Hoskin, Evelyn Laing, and Linda Tramel; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and infant son; an infant sister; three brothers, Bill, David and Jim Bradstreet, and sisters, Lee Ella Ashley and Leta Hynes.
Vera was a member of the Post Cereals 25 year club and the Family Altar Church where the church's pine trees came from her property. She enjoyed crocheting, puzzles, cards, gardening and growing blueberries.
A visitation will be held 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Thursday, January 23, 2014 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home where funeral services to celebrate Vera's life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday. Interment will follow at Morgan Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the Remember-A-Vet Program.
