Victor "Vic" Lee Willerick

Victor Lee "Vic" Willerick, age 74, of Battle Creek, MI passed away on Saturday evening, January 28, 2023, peacefully at home with his family surrounding him with love. Vic was born in Marshall, Michigan on November 9, 1948 the son of Earl C. and Florence V. (Rinehart) Willerick. Vic graduated from Harper Creek High School in 1968 and faithfully served his country as a member of the United States Army. Vic was employed at Eaton Corporation in Battle Creek, MI until they closed and then ultimately retired from the United Steel & Wire Co. in 2007.

Vic married the "Love of His Life", Mary M. Wilhelms in Battle Creek on November 24, 2004; she sadly preceded him in death on April 8, 2019. He was also preceded in death by his parents, his brother Clifford E. Willerick; his step-son & best friend, Philip Brian Edwards; and his dog, "Gizmo". Vic is survived by his son, Chad (Kerry) Willerick and daughter, Cheryl (Scott) Nielsen; nine grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; his sisters, Sandy (Mike) Cornish, Debbie Ball; and several nieces & nephews.

Vic was a true homebody who enjoyed watching movies & NASCAR (#48 Jimmy Johnson was his favorite). He also enjoyed being in the outdoors, fishing & camping, but his favorite thing to do was hanging out with his best friend and stepson, Phil, running around town and going on errands together. If you knew Vic and Phil then most likely you have seen them together running around town. You would rarely see one without the other.

A memorial service to celebrate Vic's life will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 1st at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care where the family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. A private inurnment will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials directed to Centrica Care Navigators (Hospice) would be appreciated.
