Victoria Louise "April" Boyer of Richland, MI


April, age 76, went to be with her Lord, Monday morning, May 2, 2016 at Kairos Dwelling of Kalamazoo, MI.

April, the daughter of Arthur C. and Petronella A. (Kasinskas) Boyer, Sr., was born in Baltimore, MD on April 1, 1940; she was a 1958 graduate of Western Senior High School, Baltimore. She retired in 2000 after 25 years of faithful service to the State of Maryland in its Administrative Office and then moved to Richland. April was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Savior, Kalamazoo; Treasurer in 2009 and Vice President in 2010 of the Friends of Richland Community Library and had been a member of the Sandbaggers Ladies Golf Club at Eastern Hills Golf Course, Kalamazoo. She enjoyed reading, cross stitching, knitting, water aerobics, her card club and playing a round of golf, often!

Surviving is her daughter, Charlene E. Bees of Baltimore; her son Ronald E. (Trinda) Bees, Jr. of Baltimore; three grandchildren, Ronald Bees, Eric Jones and Katie Bees; five great grandchildren, Ronald E. Bees, Alyssa Bees, Kaylee Bees, Caden Bees and Braidyn Fitzgerald; her sister, Lorraine M. (Chester) Hills of Hickory Corners, MI; a brother, Arthur C. (Pat) Boyer of Baltimore; her nieces Victoria (James) Towery and Elizabeth (James) Potter; her nephew Marty Boyer and several great nieces and nephews. April was preceded in death by her parents.

The Funeral Service to celebrate April's life will be held on Saturday, May 7th at 10:30 a.m. at the Lutheran Church of the Savior, 3616 East G Avenue, Kalamazoo, MI 49004, with the Pastor, Rev. Andrew W. Tengwall, officiating. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Kalamazoo. Family and friends will return to the Church's Social Hall to continue April's life celebration with a time of fellowship and a luncheon immediately following the committal. Memorial contributions in April's honor may be directed to the Lutheran Church of the Savior. The Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Richland Chapel (269-629-6022) is assisting April's family with her arrangements.
