Vipin “Sunny” Kumar Singh, 70, passed away at his home surrounded by family on Wednesday, July 31st, 2024 in Battle Creek, MI. He was born June 24, 1954 to John and Florence Singh in Jabalpur, India. On July 16, 1983 he married Bernice Gilroy in Battle Creek, MI. He touched the lives of many through his remarkable journey and unwavering dedication to his faith, family, and career.
Vipin grew up in Jabalpur, India, where he made a significant impact as a respected defense attorney. His passion for justice and commitment to his profession were evident throughout his career. In 1980, he was elected to serve as a delegate for the United Methodist Church to come to the United States.
During his time as a delegate, he met and fell in love with his wife, Bernice. Her unwavering love and support were central to his strength and success as an entrepreneur owning many businesses in Battle Creek, MI . Their partnership was a cornerstone of his life, and together they shared countless moments of joy, laughter, and mutual support.
He is survived by his wife Bernice; his 4 beloved children, Ashish (Amber), Sonia (Matt), John (Lisa), and Asha (Michaelia), his 5 grandchildren, Lola, Belle, Carter, Sawyer, and Rakshaan, 1 sister Edith (Llewlyn) Clements, 1 brother Sushil (Mildred) Singh as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who carry forward his legacy with pride and love. Preceded in death by his brothers Anil Singh and Sunil Singh of Jabalpur, India.
Vipin’s journey was one of perseverance, love, and service. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his contributions, his love for his family, and his enduring spirit. His laughter, wisdom, and unwavering faith will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.
The family invites all who knew him to join us in remembering a remarkable man whose legacy will live on through the lives he touched. The family will receive friends 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, August 4, 2024 at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Cremation Preneed Care, Battle Creek where services to celebrate Vipin's life will be held 12:00 noon, Tuesday, August 6, 2024. The service will be livestreamed and may be viewed at https://vimeo.com/event/4484025. Interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A reception will follow interment at First Congregational Church (145 Capital Ave NE, Battle Creek, MI 49017) where stories and memories of Vipin will be shared.
