Virginia E. Kohne

February 11, 1932 — March 29, 2013

Viriginia E. (Crandall) Kohne, 81 of Battle Creek, died Friday, March 29, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family. Virginia was born February 11, 1932 in Albion.
She moved to Battle Creek and married Ed Kohne 1966. She began her Civil Service career in the Supply Cataloging field with the Defense Logistics Supply Center, and later transferred to the Air Force Cataloging and Standardization Center at the Federal Center in Battle Creek. She retired in 1992 after 25 years of service.
She is surivived by husband, Edward P. Kohne, her sons: Jon E. and Alan W. Marshall, both of Manistee; her daughters: Lynne C. Smith of Kentucky and Nancy J. Knapp of Battle Creek; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; two brothers and a sister also survive her. She was preceded in death by her her parents and two brothers.
She was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. In addition to her involvement in the church, she enjoyed several hobbies and time spent with her family.
At Virginia's wishes she has been cremated and a memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm, Friday, April 12, 2013, at St. Paul Lutheran Church,
349 Capital Avenue, NE in Battle Creek, MI. Interment of her cremains was formerly held at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorial donations to St. Paul Lutheran Church, or the Haven of Rest, 11 Green St, Battle Creek, MI, would be appreciated. Arrangements are by the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home.
