Virginia Lee Riddle, 74, of Battle Creek, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Borgess Medical Center, Kalamazoo. She was born December 30, 1939, the daughter of Carl and LaMoyne (Hall) Babcock. She graduated from Pennfield High School in 1958. She originally worked at Leila Hospital until she was united in marriage to Robert Glenn Riddle on April 21, 1962. He was a career US Navy man, and they traveled extensively with their family until his retirement brought them back to Battle Creek. Virginia was then employed by Community Hospital as a dietitian until her retirement in 1990.
In addition to her husband Bob, Virginia is survived by her three sons; Scott G. of Battle Creek, Marty L. and Todd A. both of North Carolina; four grandchildren; two sisters, Janice H. (James) Standley of Climax and Barbara J. Babcock of Battle Creek.
Virginia briefly attended Overflow Church and enjoyed flower gardening, quilting and truly enjoyed working in ceramics.
A Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, September 18, 2014 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home, 105 Capital Ave. N.E., Battle Creek with a visitation being held at 12 noon, one hour prior to the service. The Rev. James L. Sparks officiating and the interment to follow at 2:00 pm at Ft. Custer National Cemetery.
