Virginia May Russell

Virginia May Russell, age 88 of Battle Creek passed away peacefully at home on Monday morning, August 5, 2024. She was born in Marshall, Michigan on April 19, 1936, the daughter of Ralph and Edith (Bush) Kenworthy. Virginia enjoyed being in the outdoors, going to yard sales & to the casino, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Virginia is survived by her children, Kara Ernsberger of Portage, Gary Pontius, Kelley Russell, and Richard “Rick” Russell, all of Battle Creek; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and her nephew, Kevin Jacobs. She was sadly preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Russell; her son, Michael Russell; and her brother, Eugene Jacobs.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the American Cancer Society or the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
