Vivian House

Vivian House, 86, of Portage, died June 2, 2017. Vivian was born May 15, 1931 in Bangor to Herbert and Anne (Behrens) Wellington. She graduated from Battle Creek Central High School and worked as a bookkeeper at various places before retiring from Floyd Wonser Supply Company.

Vivian married Richard House August 5, 1951. He sadly preceded her in death in 2010. Vivian was also preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Duke Wellington.

Vivian is survived by her two children, Debra House and Richard House.

Vivian had many hobbies, including cross stitching, knitting, reading and golfing. She was an excellent seamstress and loved to travel in her motorhome.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 11, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek. A graveside service to celebrate Vivian's life will be 2:30 p.m., Monday, June 12, 2017 at Fort Custer National Cemetery, officiated by Chaplain Janine McGill.
