Vivian May (Bryant) Quibell

Vivian May Quibell, 94, of Battle Creek, died May 1, 2017. She was born July 31, 1922 in Martin, MI, the daughter of Arthur and Mary F. (Griffin) Bryant. Vivian grew up in Kalamazoo and graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School. She moved to Battle Creek in 1941. Vivian was employed by Walgreen's Drug Stores for 25 years and by Larmour's Drug Store in Urbandale for 15 years.

Vivian was a member of Redemption Lutheran Church and volunteered at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital. She enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, reading and cooking.

Vivian was preceded in death by two husbands. She married Sheldon J. Spear on February 8, 1941 and he preceded her in 1966. Vivian then married George V. Quibell on January 29, 1968 and he passed away in 1996. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Carolyn L. Fritz and Mary Jo Spear; and a special friend, Alie Birdsong. She is survived by her son, Randl J. "Randy" Spear, six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place and the graveside service to celebrate her life will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens in the chapel, officiated by Rev. Karl N. Strenge.
