Wayne B. Clark, age 95, of Battle Creek went to be with the Lord on June 17, 2022.

Wayne was born on August 17, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Wellington B. and Florence A. (Stevens) Clark. He grew up in Blissfield, Michigan, where he graduated from Blissfield High School in 1944. He decided to further his education by attending Michigan State University and graduated in 1949 with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and an Associate's in Industrial Engineering.

Following graduation, he began his career with the Kellogg Company in Battle Creek. He spent his early career in research and product development before joining the Industrial Engineering group where he spent the remainder of his nearly 40 years with the company. Wayne's career took his family to Memphis, Tennessee and Omaha, Nebraska, as well as assignments in several foreign plants. When he retired, he was responsible for the Industrial Engineering functions for the U.S. Food Products Division. He was a Life Member of the Institute of Industrial Engineering, having been very active in this organization during his career and was a member of the Kellogg 25 Year Club.

After retirement from the Kellogg Company, he enjoyed traveling with his wife in their motorhome, spending winter months in Florida and summers in Ludington, Michigan. He was an avid fisherman and spent many years fishing on Lake Michigan for salmon and Lake Erie for walleye. He also enjoyed playing bridge and restoring old cars. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Birchwood Methodist Church and Chapel Hill United Methodist Church.

In 1950, Wayne was united in marriage to Mary M. King, who also graduated from MSU with a degree in education. She taught in both Battle Creek and Lakeview schools. Mary preceded him in death on September 28, 2020.

Wayne was also preceded in death by his parents, brother, Maurice E. Clark and a niece, Karen M. Clark. He is survived by his three children, Keith A. (Marge) Clark of Bloomington, IN, Kenneth W. (Robin) Clark and M. Carol (Jerome) Volesky both of Battle Creek; four grandchildren, Allison (Andrew) Logan, Jill (Matt) Boehmer, Mary Volesky and John Volesky and three great grandchildren, Aiden and Addison Boehmer and Wyatt Logan.
