Willard "Mac" Mcnees

Willard J. "Mac" McNees, age 92, formerly of Battle Creek passed away Wednesday morning, July 13, 2022 in Oberlin, Ohio. He was born in Battle Creek on March 7, 1930, the son of Clifton and Alpha (Drake) McNees and graduated from the W.K. Kellogg Agricultural School in Hickory Corners. Mac faithfully served his country as a member of the United States Navy and retired from the Wonder Bread Company after more than 28 years. He was a member of the Battle Creek Eagles Aerie #299 and enjoyed dancing and his dog, "Susie".

Mac married Elma "Jo" Hutchins on January 24, 1994; she survives. He is also survived by his children, Susan Barker, Patti, Mark, Christopher and Michael Joseph McNees; his step-children, Allyn William (Stacy) Reeve and Julie Kaser; his brother, Donald McNees; 15 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Mac was preceded in death by his son, Michael McNees; his parents; and eleven brothers & sisters.

The family will receive friends 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 21st at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care where service to celebrate his life will begin at 2:00 p.m. The service will be Live-Streamed and may be viewed at https://vimeo.com/730985166. Interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials directed to the Battle Creek Eagles Aerie #299, 19757 Capital Ave NE, Battle Creek, MI 49017, would be appreciated.
