William "Bill" P. Clancy

January 23, 1966 — December 28, 2023

Hickory Corners

Bill, age 57, died Thursday morning, December 28, 2023 following a two year battle with cancer. He was surrounded and supported by his loving family and friends.

Bill, the son of Harry K. and Patricia A. (Coghlan) Clancy, was born in Battle Creek on January 23, 1966; he was a lifetime area resident and a 1984 graduate of Gull Lake High School. He furthered his education at Kennesaw State University in Georgia where he received a business degree with a double major in Professional Sales and Marketing. He joined his brothers who formed Clancy Realtors, which later became Team Clancy. Working with Chuck and Tom brought many laughs and shenanigans. People often commented that the Bill could be found working from the local bar as often as the office on the bay of Gull Lake. He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Gull Lake Area Rotary Club, Knights of Columbus, Pheasants Forever and the Kalamazoo Rod & Gun Club .

Bill prided himself in building authentic relationships with his community. This was shown through his generosity, compassion, and kindness to everyone he came in contact with. Bill was well known for his tardiness. However, it was usually because he had an opportunity to lend a helping hand or catch up with an old friend. He loved to spend time outdoors hunting, fishing and running his bird dog, Tucker. Bill was immensely proud of his two daughters and loved to brag about them to anyone who would listen.

Bill was united in marriage to Diane Adamski, in St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Delton, MI on September 2, 1995. Surviving is his wife of 28 years Diane; two daughters, Molly Patricia Clancy and Maggie Jane Clancy, both of Hickory Corners; two loving sisters, Mary and Mike Otto of Delton and Kate and John Gould of Kalamazoo; five brothers, Tim and Stacey Clancy, Dennis and Kellee Clancy and Chuck and Linda Clancy, all of Richland; Mike and Sheila Clancy of Sturgis; and Tom and Kim Clancy of Augusta and a plethora of nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James “Jim” Clancy.

Bill’s family will greet friends on Friday, January 5th, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 p.m. in St. Ann Catholic Church Social Hall, 12648 East D Avenue, Augusta, MI 49012.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 6th at 11:30 a.m. in St. Ann Catholic Church with Father James Adams, Celebrant and Father David Pinto and Deacon Michael A.
